CBM measures the volume of a shipment and is the basis for most sea freight and warehousing rates.

Formula:
Length (cm) × Width (cm) × Height (cm) ÷ 1,000,000 = CBM

Example:
Length = 50 cm, Width = 50 cm, Height = 50 cm
50 × 50 × 50 = 125,000
125,000 ÷ 1,000,000 = 0.125 CBM (rounded to 0.13 CBM)

Overweight is determined by the package's KG/CBM ratio, not by its actual weight alone.

Formula:
Total Weight (KG) ÷ Total Cubic Meter (CBM) = KG/CBM

If the result is 500 KG/CBM or higher, the package is considered overweight.

Example:
450 KG ÷ 0.60 CBM = 750 KG/CBM. Since 750 is greater than 500, the package is considered overweight.

Once a package is flagged overweight, freight cost is charged per kilogram instead of per CBM — currently ₱26/KG for most sea freight commodities, and ₱36/KG for battery items. This applies to all commodities and is based on a 0.16 CBM minimum threshold.

No. Rates vary by freight mode (sea or air), by commodity classification, and by whether a shipment is charged per CBM, per kilogram, or per piece. Regular/ordinary goods are charged differently from regulated or high-value items such as electronics, machines, batteries, and chemicals. Special or sensitive items require a separate assessment and quotation before shipment — coordinate with StratQuad in advance for these.

Sea Freight — Loose Cargo Load (LCL), regular commodities:

*Overweight (500 KG/CBM+) rates:

• General & high-value cargoes: ₱26 / KG
• Chemicals: ₱30 / KG
• Battery-related items: ₱36 / KG

Note: For small packages (₱399, ₱1,000 & ₱1,500), even if the actual weight is considered overweight, the fee charged will be whichever is higher between the flat small-package rate and the applicable overweight rate.

Loose cargo shipments from our China warehouse must not exceed the following dimensions and weight per unit:

Cargo exceeding the sizes or weights above is subject to warehouse approval. Please coordinate with our Key Accounts Officers ahead of shipment if your cargo is expected to exceed these limits.

For air freight, if a shipment's volumetric (dimensional) weight is higher than its actual weight, freight cost is based on the volumetric weight instead.

Formula:
(Cubic Meter × 167 volumetric factor) = Volumetric Weight (KG), then × Commodity Rate

Example:
0.02 CBM × 167 = 3.34 KG
Rounded up to the next whole kilogram → 4 KG
4 KG × ₱680/KG (ordinary goods rate) = ₱2,720

Any decimal weight is always rounded up to the next kilogram (e.g., 3.01 KG becomes 4 KG) before the commodity rate is applied.

No — the calculator only gives an estimate. The final amount is based on the actual CBM and weight recorded upon receipt at our China warehouse. Dimensions may differ slightly from the initial estimate due to final packaging and/or quantity at the time of delivery.
